You're Alive, Phil!
You're alive, Phil
What an interesting turn of events. You, an inert lump of rock in the depths of space, have gained consciousness.
You're going to have to live with that.
About
This game was made unofficially for the Gam3 Jam, a 7 day jam hosting by myself (so the game ineligible to win) and N3rkmind.
You play as a lone consiousness coming to terms with their reality. The game is a casual puzzle game with a narrative element.
How To Play
The only control you need is the mouse. Move the mouse around the player (Phil) to determine the direction you want to move. Clicking will cause Phil to move in that direction if there is a valid tile there. Holding the mouse down will cause Phil to keep moving while there valid tiles there, until you let go of the mouse.
Collect all of the Berts (the yellow things) and get to the green square to complete a stage.
The theme of this jam was "Learn From Failure", and the implentation is that you, the player, do not know where the end tile is until you have collected all of the Berts. By that time, you may not be able to reach it anymore. If so, hit the little restart button at the bottom, and make sure you remember where the end tile is.
Teach the Player
In addition to the "Learn From Failure" theme, there was a challenge to teach the player something. It's a little wishy washy and philosophical, but what I'm aiming to teach the player is that, while it may be true that we are all isolated sparks of consciousness trapped inside meat mechs, we're alive, and what experience we do have should be cherished.
Enjoy your existential crisis.
Credits
All gameplay, 3D models, and writing, were made by me. The music was by Dimitri Kovalchuk (from the Asset Store), and the narration was created using ElevenLabs Pro.
Also, Coltari had some really good ideas in stream chat during development. So... uh... bully for him.

Super simple game concept but very fun, totally needs to be published to Steam, 8/10 fellow sentient rocks

Beautiful little game.
I really enjoyed the writing, music and VO.
In terms of feedback, I think the level complete sound is a little "aggressive" and doesn't fit the rest of the awesome atmosphere you put together. The platforms moving up and down animation could also be a little smoother to match the pace of the game.
Simple yet it kept me playing until the end to witness Phil's journey.
Thank you for the existential crisis.

I'm sorry I didn't include this :'(
