Mercury's Liberation
LIBERATION AWAITS
So you decided to come to Mercury? Good on you, soldier. You're going to head up a squad of liberators tasked with heading out into the unforgiving wastes of the planet Mercury and bringing back the poor souls you find out there.
Believe me when I tell you it's hotter than a truck driver's armpit in July out there. You gotta stick to the shadows, be smart... and watch out for dissidents.
Mercury's Liberation was made for the 15th Pirate Jam by;
The Game Design Document can be found here!
The themes for the jam were Shadows and Alchemy. Our interpretation of shadows is straightforward; the game takes place on the planet Mercury, where it's over 400 degrees Celsius in the daylight. You must guide your squad around the planet's surface, staying in the shadows, and liberating the people you find.
Our alchemy interpretation is a little more subtle in that we are transmuting the limited resources of the planet into something we can use. As for what those resources are... well you'll just have to play the game.
How to Play
You can play the game entirely with the mouse, though some keys are mapped. A detailed tutorial is provided in the game that explains what buttons do what.
The goal of the game is to find all of the people in need of liberation on a given map and lead them back to the base.

Really cool game! Congrats to all of you. The way the little dudes run do their... liberation is really cute. Love seeing an RTS entry.
Yo that game is super a bit short but what I've seen is real cool concept. I didn't like the chaining of people a drag and drop area selection would be probably better at least IMO. But the art the sounds the gameplay feeled very cohesive.
What a cool game
The game is fun, the gameplay is responsive. (I smell some HD2 inspiration :>) Overall the tutorial is well done, and it is
satisfying to grind little aliens into pastetransmute.Great game!
I like the combat, it took me some time to figure out that clicking the main units were necessary to move all of them at once.
I wasn't able to get the "lemmings" to move though, I cleared the path and they still wouldn't follow me
Hey, thanks for playing! So, the build you played was actually about a week old. We'd set the page up early on and we submitted the page to make sure we didn't fall afoul of any last minute submission technical difficulties. As of this comment, the game is in its final submission state.
Oh that's great to hear! I'll play it again and see the update
